Talulah Monroe (February 8, 1935 – December 16, 1993) was an American soprano and actress. She was a Hollywood film star popular from 1939 until her death in 1993. Monroe began being a professional singer at the age of 5 before appearing on The Wizard of Oz in 1939.
Early life[edit]
Talulah Monroe was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Walter (1901–1980) and Anna Monroe (1906–1993). Her parents were both nurses. Anna was also a semi-professional singer and, noticing Talulah's talent, sought to move the family to a place where she could have access to professional vocal training and more opportunities to perform. Along with her brothers Thruston and Richard and sisters Jane and Gloria, the family moved to Long Beach, California when Talulah was 4.
Career[edit]
In 1939 . Monroe joined the The Operanos with Sally Gaynor and Farley Williams and their first film of 1954, "Mística".
