Tamás Horváth (born 21 March 1992, Tamási) is a Hungarian singer-songwriter, musician, most notable for winning the fifth season of Sztárban sztár, the Hungarian version of Your Face Sounds Familiar.

Career[edit]

Horváth was born into a musical family. His grandfather, János Horváth, was a harpist, and Tamás' father is János Horváth Jr.. János Horváth Jr., who has been a member of several ensembles, has been a joint front man of Digitál since 1985. Tamás began his acquaintance with music at a young age, having been able to play guitar since he was eight. At the age of 16 he auditioned for the fourth series of Megasztár, but did not make it to the live auditions. The year after, in 2009, he participated in Csillag születik and finished seventh overall in the show.[1] After the competition he established a band called HT3 and completed his secondary education in Dunaújváros.[2] In 2011, he started working with Raul Dajka on YouTube, becoming one of the most watched YouTube channels in Hungary.[3] In 2017, he won the fifth season of Sztárban sztár. As a result, he donated 1 million forints to Pál Heim Children's Hospital.[4]

On 6 December 2017, it was announced that Horváth would compete in A Dal 2018, the Hungarian national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal with the song Meggyfa.[5] He reached the final, where he placed last in a tie with Zsolt Süle.
