Tanja Tatomirovic (Serbian Cyrillic: Тања Татомировић; Belgrade, 1 August 1973) is an internationally acknowledged expert in the field of public relations, with a background in media, education, petrochemical, oil&gas, and IT communication and software industries, having worked on two continents and more than 25 countries.

She has a Degree from the London School of PR; certificate in social innovations gained at the University of Washington, Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, Seattle, US,[1] B.A. degree in international relations and a Master's Degree in communicology from The Faculty of Political Sciences of the Belgrade University. She has successfully completed her PhD studies in the management of culture and media at the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade, where her research was linked to the new forms of reputation management in a digital environment.[2]

She is a licensed mediator, an intermediary in disputes, registered at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia.

Tanja has served as an inspiration for the character in a novel by a writer Igor Marojević titled "True Women from Belgrade", published by Laguna in 2017.[3]

Professional engagement[edit]

She oversaw communication in different companies in Serbia and the region, including vast number of European and Eurasian countries. Some of the organizations where she led communications and marketing across the borders are Supreme Commercial Court of the Republic of Serbia, HIP Petrohemija Pancevo, United Group BV, South Stream Transport BV Amsterdam.[4]

Since the beginning of 2013, she has been working at Microsoft, and as of October 2021, she became a communications lead for Microsoft Development Center in Serbia, one the most important and fastest-growing development centers of the company in this part of the world.[5][6]

As an interim equity representative, specialized in media, she led the privatization of the oldest weekly newspaper in the Balkans – "Pancevac", from April 2015 until its privatization in September the same year.

As a lecturer and writer[edit]

She is the author of numerous published expert research papers.

She wrote the book "Mussolini’s microphone – radio propaganda of fascist Italy", the first book published by the Serbian PR Association, which gives insight into the topic of radio propaganda and has been listed as additional literature in the history studies at the Belgrade University.[7]

Awards and accolades[edit]

Tanja has received many national and international awards and accolades in the field of communications and marketing:

  • Award for the best crisis communication in 2010 – Serbian PR Association
  • Second best marketing campaign in Europe for introducing the new product – CTAM CAP (Creative Awards Program), Silver Award, New Product or Service Launch, 2010
  • At the end of 2010, the international review ″Digital TV″ listed her among the 50 most prominent people in the broadband/digitalindustry in Europe,due to her usage of new media in corporate communications[8]
  • International award Pro PR Globe Awards in 2020[9]
