Elections[edit]
2017 U.S. House of Representatives race
Main article: Utah's 3rd congressional district special election, 2017
In 2017, Ainge, a political outsider[3], ran in the special election for Utah's 3rd congressional district to replace Republican Jason Chaffetz, who resigned on June 30. Ainge submitted enough signatures to qualify for the primary ballot where Ainge was defeated, garnering 28.3% of the vote to Curtis's 40.5% and Herrod's 31.1%.[4][5]
2018 Utah County Commission race
In 2018 Ainge filed as a candidate for Seat A of the Utah County Commission. After narrowing the field of five candidates to two candidates at the Utah County Republican nominating convention,[6] Tanner emerged with roughly 70% of the vote in the primary election, securing the Republican nomination for a historically Republican seat. [7]
Personal Life[edit]
Ainge and his wife, Heidi, currently reside in Alpine, Utah; they have five children.
