History[edit]

Tau Psi Omega Fraternity was founded on the campus of Arizona State University in the Fall of 1996 by twelve honorable men. As these twelve young men started their respective university lives, they were surrounded by a multitude of opportunities and new experiences. Most of them were not originally from the area, and in their pursuit of leadership and education they became involved in various organizations on campus. It was through their involvement, that the lives of these individuals crossed each other. As they began to share their new experiences together, a strong friendship grew between these men, and in their desire to strengthen that bond and in search for "a home, away from home" they looked at the fraternities that existed on campus. After exhausting research and careful consideration, they decided that no existing fraternity stood for what they believed, so to honor their believes Tau Psi Omega was created.

Their values in mind, they founded a community service and academic based brotherhood. A fraternity that would give other young men the opportunity to bring the values, strengths, and believes presented in their families and cultures into a brotherhood, to grow into leaders, and to positively reach out and impact their local communities. A fraternity that did not pride itself on the number of their membership, but in the quality of each of its brothers. A brotherhood of sincere and respectful gentlemen. A diverse brotherhood where young men could have the opportunity for social integration and leadership development, while achieving academic success. A brotherhood that would promote and instill the values of honor, unity, diversity, servitude, faith, and knowledge. Since its foundation, Tau Psi Omega has made an active commitment in the area of service, and has been successful in building positive relationships with our local communities and other organizations on campus, and implementing new service projects. Today, the brothers of Tau Psi Omega continue to strive in accomplishing the purpose and goals and Mission Statement that Our Most Honorable Founding Fathers set forth.
