Taylor Christian Records
Taylor Christian Records is an American independent record label founded by jazz pianist, composer, and record producer Sean Mason. Based in New York City, the label specializes in contemporary jazz and serves as the primary outlet for Mason's recordings as a leader and producer. The label's catalog uses the prefix TCR for its release numbering system.
History
Taylor Christian Records was established by Sean Mason as an independent vehicle for releasing his own recordings outside of major institutional labels. The label's name reflects Mason's personal identity — Taylor and Christian being his middle names.[1]
The label's first release under its catalog system was The Southern Suite (TCR-002) in 2023, Mason's debut album as a leader, which had also been released in partnership with Blue Engine Records, Jazz at Lincoln Center's in-house label.[2] In 2025, the label released A Breath of Fresh Air (TCR-001), Mason's sophomore album, recorded at Bunker Studios in Brooklyn, New York.[3][4]
