Tays, was born as Mikey Taylor on January 1, 2003, in Moston, Manchester, United Kingdom, he is a British rapper and social media influencer. He has gained significant popularity across various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitch.
Growing up in Manchester’s Moston, Tays was on track for a career as a professional boxer. He attended a boxing-specific college – Joe Gallagher’s Boxing Academy – after high school. Whilst in 2020 Tays chose music over sport, Tays continues to box in his free time.
On Instagram, Tays (@taysmcr) has amassed over 411,000 followers, sharing photos and videos that showcase his lifestyle and music endeavors.
His TikTok account (@taysmcr) boasts over 765,000 followers and 18.3 million likes, where he posts engaging and entertaining content.

Career
Throughout 2020, Tays’ music gained significant momentum on social media following the release of Catch It and Creed, achieving viral success early in the year.
Later in the year, Tays signed to Marylebone Records and released Star and Hands Up in quick succession with videos filmed in Majorca.[3]
Tays started 2021 dropping Bang on New Year’s Day – his 18th birthday – with a video shot in Manchester detailing a bank heist. Bang was described by GRM Daily as ‘a reflection of the sound of the current next gen of UK rappers’.[4]
In March 2021, Tays released BLEM, described as ‘a catchy bop, that sees Tays spit over a classic dancehall-infused hip-hop beat, brassy baseline and keys riff’.[5]
In April 2021, Tays released Day 1 in collab with fellow Manchester rapper SVMI. The track nods to friendship and shifting the focus from so-called ‘nefarious activity’ to focussing on working hard.[6]
Having launched a career just as the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns hit, Tays plans to perform live were halted. He has performed at various livestream events in the meantime, including for Pie Radio and his label alongside artists including SVMI, Dylan Beddz and Sim.[7][8]
