Te Ao Tapatahi is a New Zealand television news show that airs on Māori Television.[1]. The show is broadcast at noon for 30 minutes Monday to Friday on Māori Television and the Te Ao Māori News Facebook page. Tapatahi was launched in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic to give Aotearoa's indigenous community the latest information on the public health crisis. Until June 2021 it aired for one hour in the morning 7 a.m. time slot. The programme was initially hosted by Māori Television CEO Shane Taurima[2]. In mid-2020 the network announced former TVNZ presenter Neil Waka would present the programme[3]
