Tejas then as a 21-year-old, city college student had discovered and collected the types specimens of Ghatiana atropurpurea (Amboli), Ghatiana splendida (Chakul) and Gubernatoriana thackerayi (Raghuveer Ghat). The various specimen were named by Thackeray, Dr. Pati and Anil Khaire.[1][2][3][4][5] These are:

Along with Dr. S.K. Pati of ZSI and Anil Khaire, he was a part of the naming and description of Ghatiana atropurpurea and Ghatiana splendida. The three Gubernatorianas ( alcocki, thackerayi and waghi) were described and named by Dr. Pati.
