Tele Cine Awards (Tele- Television & Cine- Cinema) is an Awards Show on Bengali Cinema and Television Serials organized by The Tele Cine Society.
Overview
The Tele Cine Awards Archived 2015-04-23 at the Wayback Machine has started in the year 2000 by Mr. Mrinmoy Kanjilal Archived 2015-04-23 at the Wayback Machine the General Secretary of the Tele Cine Awards and Secretary of The Tele Cine Society, a non-profitable organisation registered under Society Act of the Government of West Bengal.
The last award show in the year 2013 was the 13th year celebration of the finest award giving ceremony of West Bengal for the Tele Cine Awards; and as of September 2014, there were 13 award shows organized by The Tele Cine Society since it started its journey in the year 2000.
Awards
Since 2000, there have been 13 Award Shows arranged to date (September 2014). There were 4 divisions in the 18 award categories in the 13th Tele Cine Awards, and mostly the award categories remain the same except in some special situations (in the 11th Tele Cine Awards 2011 - Rituparno Ghosh was awarded specially as Extraordinary Performance in an Exceptional Character for the film Arekti Premer Golpo, which was organized in Science City).[1] The awards are presented to the winner from at least four nominees in a single award category on the basis of public voting, and some special awards are decided by film critics.
