Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards South, also known as the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards South or simply DPIFF South, rewards the artistic and technical achievements of South Indian film and music released by Tollywood, Kollywood, Malayalam cinema and Kannada cinema.[1] The ceremony was instituted in 2019 at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. Abhishek Mishra is the chief executive officer of DPIFF and Anil Mishra is the founder. The first awards ceremony was held on 20 September 2019.[2]

2019[edit]
The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival instituted the award ceremony coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dadasaheb Phalke, after conducting ceremonies in Delhi in 2018 and in Mumbai in early 2019.[3] The ceremony was held at Hyderabad.
2020[edit]
The second edition of the event was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will be held in 2021. The winners list was announced on New Year's Eve, 31 December 2020.[4]
