Telekom Srbija a.d. Beograd is a Serbian state-owned telecommunications operator. It was founded in June 1997 as a joint-stock company by spinning off the telecommunications business from PTT Srbija (present-day „Pošta Srbije“).[3]

All mobile, fixed, Internet and multimedia services were integrated into a single mts brand in April 2015.

In April 2015, Telekom Srbija began to provide mobile, fixed, Internet and multimedia services under "mts" brand.[4]

The Republic of Serbia is the majority owner of the company with 58.11% ownership stake.[5] Apart from the Republic of Serbia, the owners of capital also include Telekom Srbija a.d. Beograd with 20%, citizens of Republic of Serbia with 14.95%, employees and former employees of Telekom Srbija a.d. Beograd, as well as its predecessor with 6.94% of the shares.[6]

Services and business operations[edit]

Telekom Srbija mobile network was established on 9 June 1997. The Company launched the provision of mobile services in 1998. 3G technology and ADSL Internet services ADSL were introduced in 2006,[8] multimedia services (IPTV) in 2008. [9] Whereas LTE (4G) technology was introduced in 2015.[10]. At present, Telekom Srbija provides the following services:

  • mts fixed telephony

Telekom Srbija has 2.42 million customers and is the largest operator in Serbia with the market share of 81.8% (according to the 2018 statistics).

  • mts mobile telephony

The mts mobile network codes are: 064 (international: +381 64), 065 (international +381 65) and 066 (international + 381 66).

  • mts Internet
  • ICT services
  • mts digital television
  • Integrated services - mts BOX packages and mts BIZ package
  • Telephone directory services
  • Sale of devices for residential and business customers
  • QR payment, eBanking, mBanking
