Telugu Talons is an Indian professional men's handball team based in Hyderabad. It is one of the six inaugural teams in the Indian Premier Handball League, the other teams being Rajasthan Patriots from Jaipur, Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh from Lucknow, Garvit Gujarat from Gujarat, Maharashtra Ironmen from Mumbai, and Delhi Panzers from Delhi.[1][2]
History[edit]
From inception, Telugu Talons positioned themselves as the representatives of the Telugu States, i.e., Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.[2] It became an official part of the Premier Handball League on 22 April, 2023.
The team is wholly owned by Hyderabad serial sports entrepreneur, Abhishek Reddy Kankanala, who also owns Hyderabad Black Hawks (volleyball), Kankanala Racing (e-motocross), Bengaluru Raptors (badminton), DevPixel Devils (golf), and Bengaluru Brawlers (boxing).[3]
