Terry Dowdall is a Canadian municipal politician who is running to represent the riding of Simcoe-Grey in the 2019 Canadian federal election.

After working in the private sector in Simcoe-Grey, Dowdall sought and won a seat on the Essa Town Council in 2000. In 2003 he was named Deputy Mayor of Essa[1] a role which he held until 2010 when he was elected as Mayor of Essa. As mayor and deputy mayor of Essa, Dowdall also sat on the Simcoe County Council. In 2014 he began serving as Deputy Warden of Simcoe County and in 2018 he began serving as the interim Warden.[2]

In addition to serving on multiple boards and committees Dowdall secured funding that lead to the building of Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School. Dowdall also advocates for keeping taxes low and eliminating wasteful spending.[3] During a tornado that struck the town of Angus Dowall coordinated the public emergency and relief effort. Dowall claimed it was “A miracle that nobody was hurt”.[4]

In March 2018, Dowdall was nominated to replace Kellie Leitch be the candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in the riding of Simcoe-Grey for the 2019 Canadian federal election.[5]
