The Texas Cold War Medal is the second highest campaign/service award that may be issued to a service member of the Texas Military Forces.[1] It may also be issued to service members of the United States Armed Forces.[2]
Eligibility
Available to any Texas Military Forces or United States Armed Forces service member who:[2]
- Entered service between September 2, 1945 and December 26, 1991
- While a Texas resident
- The United States Cold War Medal or an equivalent United States medal is not available to be awarded.

Legal
The Texas Cold War Medal was established by Representative Sarah Davis in House Bill 402, authorized by the Eighty-third Texas Legislature, and approved by Governor Rick Perry on June 14, 2013, effective September 1, 2013.[3]
