Texas Veterans Hall of Fame (TVHOF) will honor Texas Veterans in four categories. Valor, Service, Support and Patriotism.
- Valor for the valorous actions to save and protect comrades. A sample of these are the 78 Texas Medal of Honor Recipients.[1]
- Service would honor those Veterans that served with high honors in the military and at the local, State and Federal Level.
- Support would recognize those organizations that have made a difference in the lives of Texas Veterans and their families.
- Patriotism is the signature project that will honor all Veterans by placing a medallion or marker on or near every grave that will have a link on the medallion to allow visitors viewing the grave to pull up the link and read about the Veteran and his/her service and accomplishments. This effort will be on going.
History[edit]
Since the battle of the Alamo and Goliad, Texans have been involved in many battles to include six American wars, conflicts and operations. Since World War I, 1.8 million Texans have served. The Texas Veterans Hall of Fame was created with the mission to capture and honor the history, accomplishments and service of Texans to the State of Texas and this great country of ours.
The Texas Veterans Hall of Fame Foundation has the mission of honoring and recognizing Texas Veterans for their military and civilian service to the nation and the State of Texas.
It is also chartered to educate Texans on the sacrifices, stories and accomplishments of our Texas Veterans.
