Teylor is a digital loan platform and developer of digital financial products and services for the financial services industry. The company is based in Zurich and is registered in Germany as a loan broker.[2] Besides issuing business loans via its website, Teylor also provides its proprietary digital loan application system to banks and other loan brokers as a licensed Software-as-a-Service version.

History

Teylor was launched in 2018 in Zurich by serial entrepreneur Patrick Stäuble and is registered in Switzerland and Germany as a loan broker. [3] The company officially launched its Teylor Lending Platform in March 2019.

Business model

Teylor focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises, which have a disadvantage when applying for bank loans, since banks rely on paper-based and manual processes, making small ticket lending less attractive compared to larger loans.[4] Teylor aims at closing the resulting liquidity gap by providing small business loans, which are issued by Teylor’s partner bank, the Berlin-based solarisBank.[5][6] Teylor’s distribution network consists mostly of business consultants and independent loan brokers, that cooperate with Teylor via affiliate marketing.[7]

Besides its lending platform, Teylor also provides a White Label Software-as-a-Service version of its digital lending process to banks and other loan brokers.[8]

Investors

Teylor closed a financing round of 1 million CHF in April 2019.[9] Among the investors are the Steinbeis Foundation and other private investors and family offices.[10]
