The Thai Examiner is an English-language Thai online newspaper based in Bangkok aimed toward foreigners with an interest in Thailand, expats, business analysts and English-speaking Thais. The newspaper covers economics, politics, media, culture and crime stories as well as a news desk. The Thai Examiner presents as an unbiased source of in-depth news on Thailand aimed at an international audience.[non-primary source needed][1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

News media outside Thailand use the Thai Examiner as a source for up to date news on events linked with foreigners in the country and developments which may affect international visitors.[11]

The publication is syndicated. Its content has been published on the Factiva platform powered by Dow Jones since July 2018 and the legal news publisher Lexis Nexis since April 2021. Syndigate.com also licences the online paper to other media outlets on a commercial basis.[12][13]

The newspaper provides in-depth coverage and factual information on a range of issues. It is often cited in academic papers and publications for discussions on Thailand linked with social issues, politics, the economy and current news affairs.[14]

Travel firms and advisors recommend the paper to foreigners visiting Thailand as a news source alongside the Bangkok Post, the oldest established English-language newspaper in Thailand and The Nation, part of the national Multimedia Group.[15]

Both in Thailand and internationally, other online media reproduce Thai Examiner articles through syndicated news platforms and from being cited as news source.[16][17] [18]

Thai Examiner is the 15th most popular website source for news on Thailand in the world according for news content online organiser site Feedly.[19]

The daily online newspaper also has podcast channels on Spotify, Apple and on the world broadcast network Tune In.[20][21]

It maintains ancillary online media with one YouTube TV channel for Thai News as well as a range of other social media outlets.

The online newspaper is owned by AtlanticThai Internet Co. Ltd in Bangkok, a database-driven media and technology company established in 2005.[22]
