History[edit]
Thamor Jewels collection was founded by Yoganathan Thamotharampillai, in 2008.[1]
The store was inaugurated by the mayor.[2] The products are manufactured with gold and silver in traditional designs. The increasing demand for jewellery led to the manufacture of 10K, 14K and 22K gold bars and coins. [3]
Later, the jewellery store was taken over by the sons. They made use of new technology to expand the showroom to accommodate more clientele. Thamor Jewels also became part of the Canadian Jewellers Association.
The jewellery business launched an online website during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide safe shopping for its customers and options for doorstep delivery or curbside pickups.[4]
Operations[edit]
The store is located in Mississauga. They serve customers across the GTA region and other parts of Canada by means of online shipping.[5]

The store is a retailer and designer of Gold, Silver and Diamond jewels for men, women and children. The jewels are imported from Dubai, Singapore and Italy. The products include rings, earrings, bracelets, bangles, chains, necklaces, necklace sets, anklets, brooches, mugappus and pendants.[6]

Thamor pawn provides pawn loans in the GTA region. The store provides loans or cash with gold and silver items as collateral. The gold items that can be collateralized are jewellery, coins, bullions, ingots and bars. The silver items that can be collateralized are silver coins and bars.
Remittance[edit]
The digital payment services commenced in the year 1994 in the jewellery store’s basement, to solve Canadian immigrants’ problem to transfer money overseas, which later evolved to become a finance startup. It fosters money transfer giving competitive rates similar to banks and other financial institutions. [7] It enables safe transfers from Canada to the selected international location in a secure way. There are different countries and currencies supported for foreign transfer.
Currency Exchange[edit]
The currency exchange services were introduced in the year 1997 to provide currency services to anyone travelling to or from Canada facing problems while trading the currency. It provides digital currency tools to help customers with transactions. The customer can enter currency, check and book the rates online, walk into the nearest store and collect the money. It offers a variety of currencies which can be exchanged either into or from Canadian Dollars.
For businesses, it aims to offer similar rates just like banks with faster processing times for international money exchange with full assistance.
