Thandeka Ndlovu (née Zungu) is a fictional TV character on Mzansi Magic Sopie era Isibaya which was portrayed by Nomzamo Mbatha since its beginning in April 2013 until her departure in March 2020. Thandeka was married to Sbusiso Ndlovu (played by Sdumo Mtshali) and was a daughter to Mpiyakhe Zungu (played by Siyabonga Thwala).

Theme[edit]

Thandeka was first introduced to the show at its beginning. She is shown as a young girl who was spoiled by her father Mpiyakhe Zungu (portrayed by Siyabonga Thwala) after her mother's death. Thandeka and her brother Jabu (portrayed by Pallance Dladla) were the only children to Mpiyakhe's 1st wife Annie who died in the taxi war between the East and West Association.

Thandeka was then sent to KwaZulu Natal in preparation for her Umemulo. She then met a warrior of the town, Sbusiso Ndlovu at the river little did she know that Sbusiso was son to Samson Ndlovu, her father's enemy. Thandeka's aunt Mkabayi Zungu (Thembi Nyanden) was very vicious and fearless. She heard of Thandeka's affair with the enemy's son then order war on the Ndlovu. Thandeka and her love interest Sbusiso found themselves in a crossfire of war between their parents. Sbusiso's stepmother KaMajola (Gcina Mkhiz) and Mdu (Bongani Gumede) then plotted against the love birds by lying to Thandeka and Sbusiso about Sbu's identity. Thandeka and Sbusiso were forced to believe that they were siblings after their parents failed to separate them.

After the truth came out the two love birds ran away and their parents decided to bless their marriage and create peace between the two communities. Thinking they found their happily ever after, they then faced a new challenge after the son was stolen while Thandeka gave birth. They raised a son that was not theirs but after the truth came out they didn't not return the baby but kept both of them.
