That's No Moon is an American video game developer founded in 2021. Created as an independent studio, it was founded by industry veterans aiming to create both interactive and linear games. Their first project is described as a "AAA action-adventure single-player action-adventure game".[1][2]
History[edit]
In early 2021, Michael Mumbauer, Tina Kowalewski, Taylor Kurosaki and Nick Kononelos created That's No Moon. They quickly began assembling a team made up of veteran members of the industry. Among the projects previously having been worked on by it's team members include The Last of Us, Uncharted, Destiny and Call of Duty. That's No Moon is backed by South Korean video game developer Smilegate, who have invested around $100 million in the studio.[3] As of July 2021, the team consist of roughly 40 developers. By 2022 the studio is intended to feature nearly 100 game developers. The studio's name, That's No Moon, is a reference to the popular movie franchise Star Wars.[4]
Among those who joined That's No Moon are Taylor Kurosaki (creative director) and Jacob Minkoff (game director), both previous Naughty Dog leads. The team is currently working on a big-budget single-player experience.[5][6]
