Production[edit]

The shooting of the film began during Jan 2018 and the portions of the film were mostly shot and set in Chennai. Teejay who is an independent singer in youtube signed onto play the lead role in July 2017.^[8]

The 'Thatrom, Thookrom - Demonetisation anthem' was released on the anniversary of the note ban.^[9] This song is sung by Silambarasan.^[10]^[11]^[12] This song raised a controversy and actor Silambarasan was given police protection.^[13]

Initially scheduled for release on 28 Feb 2020, the film release has been indefinitely postponed due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.
