The Apollo University is an initiative of The Apollo Hospitals Group. It has been set up at Chittoor under the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities (Establishment & Regulation) Act, 2016 - Andhra Pradesh Gazette Notification No. 608 / G593 dated 3rd November 2021.

Vice Chancellor

Prof. H. Vinod Bhat is the Vice Chancellor of The Apollo University.

In his last role, Prof. Vinod Bhat was the Executive Vice President of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, before which he was the Vice-Chancellor.[3] He also served as a Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) advisor. Bhat also serves on the Board of the Groep T college in Leuven, Belgium, the International Board of Advisors of GlobalNxt University in Kuala Lumpur, and on the Editorial Board of Journal of Rural and Remote Health, Australia.[citation needed] In addition, he was Co-Chair of the FICCI Higher Education Committee for 2017-18.[citation needed]
