The Arcadian Wild are an American indie bluegrass group formed in 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee.[2]
Career[edit]
The band's name is drawn from Arcadia, a land of eternal spring from Greek mythology.[2][3]
Lincoln Mick, Eric Coveney, and Sarah Wood, all students at Lipscomb University, started the band in 2013 after performing together in a choir.[2][4][5] They began performing at small shows held at people's houses.[6] Isaac Horn joined in 2014.[5]
The band members drew from religious choral music as they began writing their own songs.[5]
They released their first album, The Arcadian Wild, in 2015.[4]
In 2017, Sarah Jane Wood left the band to work on a solo project.[5]
Vocalist and fiddle player Bailey Warren joined the group after meeting Horn and Mick at a concert in 2019.[5] That same year, the group released its second album, Finch In The Pantry, which entered the Top Ten of the Billboard Bluegrass Chart.[3]
In 2021, the band's EP Principium debuted at #3 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart.[5][3]
