The Art Foundation or TAF is an independent, non-governmental organization for the realization and hosting of various forms of art, established in 2009, in a courtyard dating back to 1870 in the Monastiraki district of Athens.[1]

TAF / The Art Foundation is a space for the co-creation of ideas and a platform for participatory culture and art. The gallery hosts exhibitions, workshops, performances, film screenings, discussions and presentations, theater productions, site-specific installations, and works in progress. The New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City selected[2] TAF / The Art Foundation as one of three representatives of Greece for promoting Contemporary Greek Art, while the Bureau for Open Culture has collaborated with TAF / The Art Foundation to showcase many Greek artists abroad.[3]

Extensive references to the contribution of TAF / The Art Foundation to contemporary Greek art have also been made by the New York Times.[4] TAF has also been mentioned on other websites such as The Independent,[5] The Culture Trip,[6] Museeum,[7] among others.
