The Assent is a 2019 American horror film written and directed by Pearry Reginald Teo and starring Robert Kazinsky and Peter Jason. The film is about a young, single father, Joel, who suspects his son to be possessed after supernatural events begin to occur in their home. The film was produced by Boom Done Productions and released by Gravitas Ventures.
The film originally premiered at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival on 23 October 2019 and was subsequently screened at the Shockfest Film Festival in Las Vegas on 22 November 2019 before its theatrical release in the United States on 10 January 2020.
