The Baddest (stylised as O.B.O The Baddest) is the deferred second studio album by Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter Yomi which was put on hold due to terms of the contract Yomi signed with Sony Music BMG.[4] [5] It was meant to be the singer's second overall album and the follow-up to his debut LP, Omo Baba Olowo (2012). The album, which was originally scheduled for release on 8 June 2015, was later postponed to 2016.[6] Preceding the album's release were the singles "Gobe", "Skelewu", "Aye and "Tchelete", all of which were enlisted as bonus tracks.[7] As the executive producer of the album, Davido worked with Shizzi, J Fem, Uhuru, Kid Dominant, Young Jonn, Del B, Puffy Tee and P2J.[8] The album, which was preceded by the release of three singles, features guest appearances from Meek Mill, Don Jazzy, Runtown, Timaya, Trey Songz, Wale, P-Square and Akon.[9]

Promotion[edit]

To promote the album, Davido released several singles and went on to launch his clothing line and headlined several concerts.[10][11] On 30 April 2015, he released "Tchelete" which features vocals from South African duo Mafikizolo; he also went on to release promotional tracks like "Owo Ni Koko" and "The Sound". On 30 May 2015, Davido took to Twitter to announce that the album launch and concert will hold in the U.K on 25 September 2015.[12]
