The Ballet Melee
The Ballet Melee is a satirical musical dance show released in 2022. The movie is set in a utopian future disturbed by global warming where everything is dependent on a bureaucratic system. The only way to survive is by winning government funding through cultural projects. The cast consists of the dancers of Bulgarian ballet formation Arabesque and actor Niki Stanoev. The Ballet Melee is structured around the music of Bingo Symphony Orchestra.[1]
Plot
Elena and Philip, who are husband and wife, along with their friend and colleague The Clerk, participate in the “Project of the Year” competition. This year’s task is to present culturally enhancing projects. Candidates are required to form dance groups and perform ballet in order to win the award and funding. Anyone can participate in the competition. Philip and Elena start preparing in their Bingo Hall as different characters emerge and make their own performances.[2]
