Special rules
General rules of golf apply.[1] However, there are some special rules:
- Tee shots that don't make it past the red tees must play their next shot with their shorts around their ankles[2]
- To avoid repeats, reigning champions are subjected to a 3-stroke handicap deduction the following year. They will also be on the receiving end of various abuse leading up to the event, making it virtually impossible to defend.
Themes
Each year, players are assigned to different groups based on skills.
Each group offers a different set of advantages:
- Group 1: Low handicappers. Back tees. No mulligan. Straight up hero ball.
- Group 2: Mid handicappers. Gets a breakfast ball but otherwise almost hero.
- Group 3: Once-a-year players. Need a lot of help.
- Group 4: Virtual beginners. Maximum help. Some years we even allow throwing the ball out of the bunker
