The Chronicles of Israfel is a Canadian progressive, experimental metal band from Montreal, and the title of a musical narrative written by Dominic Cifarelli, the former guitar player for Pulse Ultra.[1]

History[edit]

During his time with the band Pulse Ultra. Cifarelli began to create a fictional story after viewing violent Japanese anime movies.[citation needed]

Cifarelli enlisted the help of several musicians, ans three years later, in 2007, an album based on the first part of the story was completed.[2][3] Titled "Starborn, Tome I", it follows Israfel, the main character, in his search for a new home and the self-discovery of his inner design. It was released through Bridge of Hands Entertainment.

In 2008 Cifarelli became bass player for Scars on Broadway, and the project became inactive for a time. In March 2014, the first single, "Life I Know" was released with the second planned album, "A Trillion Lights". The next album was released in October 2016, nine years after the debut album, to mixed reviews.[4][5]
