The Design Mechanism is a Canadian publisher of role-playing games, publishing material since 2012. Its licenses include products based on the graphic novel series Luther Arkwright, the Jack Vance fantasy Lyonesse Trilogy, "Mythic Earth" a series of historically-based fantasy Earth supplements, and a range of fantasy and science fiction supplements.

The Design Mechanism was founded in Grafton, Canada, in 2010 by Lawrence Whitaker and Pete Nash.[1]
Games and products[edit]
Role-playing games and supplements[edit]
From 2012 to 2015 The Design Mechanism published the RuneQuest 6th Edition roleplaying game and a series of supplements for the game.
After the RuneQuest licence reverted to Chaosium in 2016, RuneQuest 6th edition was re-named to 'Mythras', with very few other changes made to the game rules.
