Reception
The novel won the RWA's Golden Heart award for Historical Romance in 2018.[1] Sarah MacLean in The Washington Post named the novel one of the five best romance novels of 2018, notable for combining "the rich emotion of a traditional gothic romance with complex, modern characters."[2]
