The Equal Vote Coalition is an American electoral reform advocacy group which advocates for STAR voting.[1] It recently attempted to pass a STAR voting ballot measure in Lane County, Oregon in the 2018 election, failing 48-52.[2] It maintains a STAR voting web polling page at star.vote.
The Equal Vote Coalition is currently seeking to pass two new 2020 STAR Voting ballot measures in Eugene, Oregon, and Lane County, Oregon[3][4], though the measure in Eugene is currently facing difficulties getting on-ballot. [5]It has also partnered with the Independent Party of Oregon to help them use STAR voting in their primary elections.[6][7] It also got the Multnomah Democratic Party to use STAR voting in their internal elections. [8]It previously advocated for the "Unified Primary" system, a system based on Approval voting in the primary election followed by a runoff.[9] The Coalition was founded by Mark Frohnmayer. [10]
