The Final Kiss, also known as Blood on the Guitar, is a 2005 drama film that was directed by Scott Shaw.
Plot[edit]
This film follows the exploits of two rock stars Nick Cross and Christian, who are played by Scott Shaw and Kenneth H. Kim respectively. The Christian character recruits Nick Cross to reenter the world of Rock n' Roll but he is far too lost in his use of heroin to move forward with the project. This leads to the ongoing degeneration of the primary characters and their individual girlfriends until several members of the cast either die from the use of drugs or the gunplay generated by the Nick Cross character due to his anger at these deaths.
Style[edit]
As is the case with virtually all of the film work of Scott Shaw this film follows a non-linear storyline, interrupted by music video style soundtrack and edits. It also references Blaxploitation Cinema. The nemesis in this film is played by Kevin Thompson. His character's name is Priest.
This feature was filmed in the Haight Ashbury section of San Francisco and in Hollywood, California.
This film is considered a "Zen Film" in that it was created in the distinct style of filmmaking formulated by Scott Shaw known as Zen Filmmaking. In this style of filmmaking no scripts are used.
