The Hip Abduction, the St. Petersburg, FL-based collective, formed over a mutual appreciation for West African and early Jamaican reggae/dub music.[1] They recently released new single “Come On Get Up” in April 2018.[2][3]

They have played festivals such as California Roots Festival,[4] Shaky Knees, Deep Roots Mountain Revival[5] and more. They also played Red Rocks Amphitheatre in May 2018.[6]

The Hip Abduction have toured/played with Galactic, The Revivalists, Ziggy Marley, Umphrey’s McGee, Thievery Corporation, Matisyahu, 311, and Moon Taxi.[1][7][8]

The band have released three albums, their most recent album, Gold Under the Glow, was released March 11, 2016 and was produced by Dabney Morris.[9][10] Their self-titled album released in 2013, The Hip Abduction, debuted #5 on the Billboard Reggae Charts and #2 on the iTunes Reggae Charts. [11] The Hip Abduction was produced by Michael Goldwasser. [12]
