THE HONG KONG KNIFE (ザ・ホンコンナイフ) was a Japanese garage punk rock band formed in 1993 and disbanded in 2002.

Overview[edit]
In 1993, the band made their live debut at Shinjuku Loft in Shinjuku City, Tokyo as "JOE ALCOHOL & THE HONG KONG KNIFE". In 1996, he made a major debut from Kitty Records with "HATE ME MORE ..." . In 1997, the band name was changed to "THE HONG KONG KNIFE". In October 1998 THE HONG KONG KNIFE released their second album "HEARTBREAK JET SALOON" from the label of Shinjuku Loft, and the band became nationally popular. In 2000, the band made their major debut again from King Records. The single "CHERISHED MEMORIES" released in July 2000, and became the ending theme of the Fuji TV series animation "GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka)". In December 2002, there was an indefinite suspension of band activities. Reunited only once at Kawasaki Club Citta in December 2003.
