The Institution of Fire Protection Officers (IFPO) is an international professional association for fire safety professionals. Founded in 1980, IFPO is headquartered in London in the United Kingdom.

IFPO runs conferences, supports its members and establishes professional qualifications within all public and private fire sectors.

Membership[edit]

The IFPO has over 400 members. IFPO Members are involved in the consultations with governments on fire safety legislation and regulations; behaviour pattern of persons faced with emergencies; fire detection and alarm systems, fire appliances and automatic fire fighting systems

Specialist interest groups include Fire Risk Assessor Register and Technical Support.

The Institution also manages a Register of Fire Risk Assessors and Auditors and is recognised in the National Listing of Fire Risk Assessors, useful links.[1]
