Nardo the Detective meets the very exotic and clever Miss I at her Itsy-Witsy Ice Cream Club, enlisting her for assistance in capturing Ingrid the Indigo Ink Keeper, who's stolen all the indigo ink in Letter People Land. After apprehending Ingrid, it turns out that all she wanted to do was be an artist. Miss I and Mister F promises her all the indigo ink she'll need. Miss O is putting on an Obstinate Opera, "The Ostrich's Olive Omelet", and none of the Letter People in the show want to play the roles she assigns them, yet she doesn't care, because she's so obstinate. However, a crisis arises when Miss O, the lead, is needed in the clue boxes, but Vivian is excited to be a Scarecrow for her opera, so Mister F helps out by wearing Miss O's costume during the show. (Keep an eye on Mister F and Vivian in this episode, he's a hoot. He, Vivian and Miss O play well off of each other.) Mister V finds out that a Very Very Villainous Vandal is going around Letter People Land tagging items that begin with V with...well, lowercase V's. The Vandal comes on the radio and says that if he tags something that doesn't begin with a V, he'll retire. Mister B assists Mister V in tracking down the vandal, and Mister B tricks him into signing a baseball...which DOESN'T begin with V, thus running the vandal out of business. Miss U and her umbrella float up to the rooftops of Letter People Land, where she meets Uncle Elmer, the umpire. Seems the ump is looking for his baseball, which was hit out of the park and down a chimney. Miss U goes down the chimney to look and encounters the Unforgettable Underground Uglies, who have an uncanny way of making Letter People appear in their hideout for the Catching Game at will. It turned out to be a dream...or was it? Starring: Vivian, Miss U, Uncle Elmer, Mister B, Mister S, and the Unforgettable Underground Uglies. | ||||||

Vivian and Mister L wants to open his lemonade stand, but he has to overcome a few obstacles. First Lazy Laura leans on his locker filled with lemons, then the Lavender Lollapalooza comes and steals the lemons altogether. With the help of some of the other Letter People, Mister L and Vivian gets his lemons back and then offers his hand in friendship to the Lollapalooza, who readily accepts. Mister V is expecting Mister B, Mister Z, and Mister P over for dinner, but the trio are more concerned about spiffing up Mr. V's favorite violet velvet vest with buttons, zippers, and patches. Mister V does not want such things on his vest, and he requests them removed. The other Letter People reluctantly remove their items, but not before accidentally ripping the left side of Mister V's vest! Mister V gets very distraught, and decides from then on in to only start or stand in the middle of a word so no one will see the rip in his vest. Undeterred, Mister B, Mister Z, and Mister P offer their "gifts" to Mister S for his super socks, but he doesn't want them either. Finally, Mister Z says that Mister S can borrow his sound (and appear in more words) if he wears one of Mister Z's zippers. Mister S tries this and is very successful, and agrees to borrow Mister Z's sound whenever he wears a zipper on his Super Socks. After Mister V shows up at a Catching Game rehearsal to explain to Monty Swell about his ripped vest, Monty insists that the Letter People make the word "Vest" in the clue boxes so Mister V can illustrate his desire to only appear at the start or in the middle of words. However, a problem arises...Mister S and Mister T can't both appear in an ending clue box, and when they do, they get squooshed, prompting Miss E to invent the starting and ending "Squoosh Boxes" where more than one Letter Person can stand at the start or end of a word. Later, Miss E writes the song "The Squoosh", which Monty Swell, Sophie and the Letter People sing. Duke and Duchess Doodlebug are in a dither...their dancing dragon, Dolly (who sounds a lot like Carol Channing), has disappeared, and she's supposed to dance at their party. Enter Mister D, who lures Dolly back to her owners with various items that begin with the same sound that start Delicious Doughnuts. Later, Dolly plays the Catching Game at the Doodlebugs' party. Numerous "Hello, Dolly!" gags appear in this episode, and Mister D's voice is not the thundering bass we've all come to know and love! Godfrey the Ghost has stolen all the good green grapes from Gordon's Grocery Store, and it couldn't have happened at a worse time... Mister M and Sophie planning a picnic! Mister G arrives on the scene and along with Gordon, Mister M, Vivian and Miss U, convinces Godfrey to return the grapes after a round of the Catching Game, where Godfrey (who sounds an awful lot like Jim Nabors) wins a pet goldfish. Mister B, Vivian and Miss U find out that Miss I is holding a talent contest for a headliner at her night club while she and Mister F goes on a vacation as a honeymoon. On their way to Miss I's club, they pass a carnival where Mister C works. Mister C says he wants to sing more than anything in the world, but his boss, Cornelius Cornpole, won't let him, reducing him to tending to animals such as Claude the Camel and Clancy the Crocodile. After a round of the Catching Game with Mister B, Miss U, and Mister T, he is convinced to sign up for the talent contest, which he promptly wins. Starring: Vivian, Mister C, Mister B, Mister T, Miss U, Cornelius Cornpole, Claude the Camel, Clancy the Crocodile, a bear cub, and Monty Swell. In the far-off kingdom of Kabob, Kernac has kidnapped the kazoo-playing King...just before he is scheduled to play his kazoo at the kindergarten! The King's daughter, Karen, the Grand Shish of Kabob, summons Mister K to assist in her father's rescue. He rescues the King after visualizing Kernac being duped by the Letter People playing the Catching Game, but soon afterwards, Kernac returns to steal the King's kazoo again. However, it's a cliffhanger ending! Before Mister K left for Kabob, he had a falling out with Mister C, who suddenly wishes to leave Letter People Land. Mister P and Sophie notices this, and suddenly he realizes why Mister C is so mad at Mister K! Do YOU know why? When we last left the Letter People, Mister C was planning on leaving, claiming that he was no longer needed with Mister K around. Mister K returns from Kabob and Mister C nearly explodes at him. Mister T convinces the guys to go to Miss I's nightclub so Mister H can help them solve the problem. Mister H lets the vowels decide who stands in front of which vowel....however Mister C is a bit sneaky and leaves his mark in front of Miss A. Mister K notices this and puts a lowercase K in front of Miss E and Miss I, and then Mister C claims the remaining vowels. However, another problem arises...Mister K is afraid of kicking people whenever he makes a squoosh, so the Letter Girls decide he should be the second part of the squoosh, while Mister C would only be the first part of a squoosh. Despite this resolution, Mister C still wants to stand in front of all the vowels...so Mister S intervenes and lets Mister C borrow his sound whenever he stands in front of Miss E and Miss I. After this decision, all is well again in Letter People Land. After revitalizing the wand with words that begin with W (usually brought along by Willard's pal Wacky Wally, who appears at odd intervals) with the help of Vivian, Mister W, Mister B, and Miss E, Willard finds one of HIS wishes being granted by playing "Monty Swell" in a round of the Catching Game with Wacky Wally as a contestant Starring: Vivian, Mister W, Mister B, Miss E, Willard the Wizard, and Wacky Wally. | ||||||

Andrew, Miss A, Miss E, and Miss O are griping about how they make the same old sounds every time they make a word, so Miss E, not one to rest on her laurels of discovering the Squoosh, suggests that they make a long sound--one that's the same as their name--so they won't be doing the same old thing over and over. She promptly writes a song about it (on of her song "The Squoosh", which is a big hit for the Green Gorillas) and performs the song with the Green Gorillas at Philharmonic Hall in a concert hosted by radio personality Frantic Freddie. The Letter People are putting on a melodrama hosted by Monty Swell, but a problem arises--when will the Letter Girls know when to use their short or long sounds? Miss E comes up with a solution...she'll stand outside the clue boxes and remain silent whenever the Girls use a long sound, and Mister V suggests that the sheriff's badge he was going to wear in the melodrama serve as a badge of cooperation--held by the Letter Boy(s) in the ending clue box--whenever a short sound is used. The new method is premiered in the melodrama with much success. Nardo the Detective is on the case again--this time working for Letter People Land socialite Buford "Poopsie" van Murdlesnert. Apparently Poopsie's been receiving some mysterious notes with words he can't pronounce--as it turns out, the words he can't pronounce have adjacent vowels, and the Letter People figure out that the second vowel must remain silent while the first uses her long sound. The trail ends on Poopsie's yacht...where the notes lead Poopsie to a surprise party for his birthday! Starring: Vivian, Miss A, Mister B, Miss E, Miss I, Mister L, Mister M, Miss O, Mister P, Mister S, Mister T, Nardo, and Buford van Murdlesnert.
