The Marxist Empire is a self-declared sovereign state, also referred to as a micronation. The empire is located in several locations surrounding and within the town of Bunbury, Australia. This is a newly founded micronation, founded by Elijah Winterville and Zachary Shell, former citizens of a rival micronation, the Republic of New Southland.
Etymology
The name, The Marxist Empire, represents the founders’ communist ideals. The Supreme Emperor believes communism is the only route to a utopia, and will protect their ideals with a powerful dictatorship.
The national flag of The Marxist Empire represents the nation’s intelligence, represented by red, strength, represented by black, and the white represents the purity of the nation’s ideals. The swords represent the nation’s power and readiness for conquest.
History
The Rise Of The Empire
- 20 September 2022: The Marxist Empire was founded by Elijah Winterville and Zachary Shell. Former citizens of New Southland, they formed the empire due to their disgust with what their country had become. They have claimed the land surrounding New Southland, as well as their homes. They have hostile relations with New Southland and are prepared to go to war.
- 21 September 2022: War was declared on New Southland.
- 23 September 2022: The Supreme Emperor, Elijah Winterville, contacted New Southland, demanding recognition of The Marxist Empire.
- 24 September 2022: The Supreme Emperor began contacting other micronations, searching for recognition and alliances.
Politics and Government
Law And Order
The founders of The Marxist Empire, Elijah Winterville and Zachary Shell, have claimed positions of power within their government. Elijah Winterville is the Supreme Emperor of the micronation, forming a dictatorship to rule the country. He manages foreign affairs such as negotiations, treaties and wars, and manages major components of the government. Zachary Shell is the Supreme Chancellor, taking the second most powerful role within the government. He handles internal affairs and manages the minor components within the government of The Marxist Empire.
The government has been structured around communism, as the founders of The Marxist Empire believe this political ideology to be the best way for a nation to rule. However, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and equality are still major components of the legal system.
Legal matters are handled by the Supreme Emperor and Supreme Chancellor for the time being, until a proper legal system is constructed.
Foreign Relations
The Marxist Empire has hostile relations with a rival micronation, New Southland. As the founders of the empire are former citizens of the country, they are quite familiar with the government and residents of New Southland. They are disgusted by what their country has become, and have declared independence after several failed rebellions and uprisings, always led by Elijah Winterville. The Supreme Emperor has always wished to rule the country, and after failing to take over the government of New Southland, decided he would create a new empire and take New Southland by force.

Elijah Winterville
History
Elijah Winterville rules The Marxist Empire in a dictatorship, in the role of Supreme Emperor. He was a former resident of New Southland, and was somewhat of an advisor to the president, Marcus Barensky. He spent time in the military during his time in the country, as well as starting a political party and becoming Prime Minister on two separate occasions. However, he was not trusted by the leaders of the country, as he had led several failed rebellions and uprisings during his time there. After Marcus Barensky fled the country and Quinn Kampana took his place, Elijah Winterville began a rebellion named 'Viva La Rebellion.' He was also the head of a political party owning one of three political seats. After he began 'Viva La Rebellion', he renamed his political party from The National Elijah Winterville Party to The National Uprising Party. After Quinn Kompana fully took control of the country, Elijah Winterville and his partner Zachary Shell fled the country, starting their own micronation, The Marxist Empire.
Personality
Elijah Winterville is described as being intelligent, cynical and vindictive. He enjoys violence, crude humor and crime. He has quite a bad reputation both in his former country and his own, as he acts in his own self interest most of the time. However, he is also quite forward thinking and progressive, especially compared to the residents of his former country, New Southland. Elijah Winterville is an atheist.
Zachary Shell
History
Zachary Shell is in the second most powerful position in The Marxist Empire, the Supreme Chancellor. He was also a former resident of New Southland, and was mostly involved in the political aspects of the country. Originally, he led a political party running against Elijah Winterville. He also became prime minister on two separate occasions. However, after the two decided to work together, they merged their political parties into The National Elijah Winterville Party. When Marcus Barensky fled the country, he joined Elijah Winterville in 'Viva La Rebellion'. He followed Elijah Winterville when they fled the country after Quinn Kompana took control of the country, joining him in the creation of The Marxist Empire.
Personality
Zachary Shell is the opposite of Elijah Winterville, having a more compassionate personality whilst still being intelligent. It is unclear how he and Elijah Winterville even became friends and allies, but it somehow happened. He is also quite forward thinking and progressive. Zachary shell is religiously unaffiliated.

Geography and Climate
There are three main regions of The Marxist Empire, one surrounding New Southland, one at the home of the Supreme Emperor, Elijah Winterville, and one at the home of the Supreme Chancellor, Zachary Shell. The land surrounding New Southland is hilly and overgrown with mosquitoes and flies. The average annual temperature is currently ranging from 15 to 35 degrees Celsius, and the annual rainfall is 600 to 1200 mL.
Economy
There is currently no official currency within The Marxist Empire. The standard is the Australian Dollar. The Supreme Emperor, Elijah Winterville, is planning for taxes to be at a similar rate to the Australian Government.
COVID-19
COVID-19 has not had a lasting impact on The Marxist Empire, and there are no current cases. There has been one recorded case and they have recovered.
Culture and Media
Currently, there is no religious presence within The Marxist Empire. The Supreme Emperor, Elijah Winterville, is an atheist, while the Supreme Chancellor, Zachary Shell, is unaffiliated with any belief.
