The Motorettes were a band from the North East England coastal town of Tynemouth.[citation needed] The band comprised Jack Laidlaw, Jed Laidlaw and Robin Howe.[citation needed] They were signed to Kitchenware Records.[citation needed] The Motorettes extensively toured the UK throughout 2006.[citation needed] This included joint-headline dates in July with Kubichek!.[citation needed] In June 2007, drummer Jed Laidlaw left the Motorettes, and was replaced by Daniel Rose-Troup, who then subsequently left shortly after.[citation needed] The Motorettes played the Freevolution Festival in Newcastle on May Day 2007.[citation needed]

Their debut album, The Motorettes, was released on 21 August 2006. It reached #83 on the UK Albums chart.[1]

In mid-2008, Jack Laidlaw and Robin Howe announced on the Motorettes' website that the band "were no more".[citation needed] The two have now got involved with another group named Love Bites and Bruises.[citation needed]
