The Newtones is a coed student-run a cappella group from Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts.[2]
The Newtones, which is entirely student-run, sings a variety of genres including pop, folk, contemporary, rap, and more. The group consists of 14 Newton South High School students and performs within the high school, around the Boston area, and competes at regional competitions.
The group has performed with Sara Bareilles[citation needed], and recorded for Ben Folds' 2009 album Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella!.[3]
The Newtones' final concert of the season, known as Acafest, generally takes place sometime in May.
