The Nosferatu are an English second wave gothic rock band formed by ex-members of Nosferatu. The lineup features Louis DeWray (Vocals), Vlad Janicek (Bass/Keyboards), and Chris Clark (Drums). Live they are joined by Rob Leydon from Red Sun Revival (Guitar). [1]
History
Nosferatu was formed in March 1988 by Vlad Janicek (Bass/Keyboards), Damien DeVille (Guitar), and Sapphire Aurora (Vocals).[2]
The band split in acrimonious circumstances during the tour to promote The Prophecy in November 1994, at the height of their popularity. Deville DeVille then formed a new band in 1995 using the Nosferatu name without the authorisation of the other founding members. Although this was contested by Vlad Janicek at the time, legal action was halted as the ongoing cost of litigation far outweighed any potential future income.
In 2019 Vlad Janicek contacted Louis DeWray, the vocalist from the band's most iconic Rise era to float the idea of reforming the core of the classic lineup. Although Vlad Janicek held equal rights to the Nosferatu band name, they decided against creating a band with the same name and opted to call themselves The Nosferatu to help fans differentiate between the two current versions.[3]
The idea gained momentum and they quickly assembled a touring lineup and commenced work on new material and reviving many of the classic Rise and Legend era songs.[4]
The band played their first show at The Underworld in Camden, London in November 2019 [5] and their first overseas show in February 2020 in Athens, Greece.[6]

The Nosferatu is formed from founding members of the gothic rock band Nosferatu. The original band was formed in March 1988 by Vlad Janicek (Bass/Keyboards), Damien DeVille (Guitar), and Sapphire Aurora (Vocals).[2]

The band is currently writing and recording songs for their debut album.[8]
