The Red Selene is a sci-fi horror survival video game in a classic retro style, being developed by Handmade Interactive LLC since early 2022. The game follows Aaron's story, a space bounty hunter and his journey through space colony EC-21 Janus, harvesting and researching on a moon in Imperium system called the red selene.

Gameplay[edit]
Players take on the role as Aaron, the game is based on survival, finding resources and managing them to survive, It is a shooter game and the players have to use guns as their main weapon with limited ammunaction. Game is designed in a way to merge horror and fun elements of retro gaming in a new gerne, so players can experience horror and allout action.
The game is single-player and players play against NPCs, they have use different tactics and strategies to clear the NPCs and making progress in the game and completing the story.
Art[edit]
The game has a traditional pixel art style. With a modern lighting system and vast hand drawn details. All parts of the game is designed and drawn by hand. The making of the art is a complex process of sketching, making 3d models and implementing pixel art based on that creating an immersive environments.
What is unique about the art is that it is attached with the game designs, and there is a design-oriented pipeline for the art that acts as core of the gameplay.
The game follows traditional animation sprite sheet system with modern gameplay mechanics. Lighting system is also separated from the original art assets, the lighting is technically implemented in a 3D space.
