The Technical Difficulties
--REPLY TO COMMENT: The URY article only covers the things made while the group were are the University. Tom Scott's article covers more, but still not everything. They have since done many other things, such as a podcast, an 8-season YouTube show, called Citation Needed with 10310012 total views as of Nov. 6, 2018.
The Technical Difficulties (Tech Dif) are a British radio, podcast, and video team made up of Tom Scott, Matt Gray, Gary Brannan, and Chris Joel. The group formed 18 January 2006[1] as a University Radio York show where they lasted 17 series (151 episodes)[2]. This radio show ultimately won 2 awards, the Kevin Greening Award in 2008[3] and they won bronze in the 'Best Entertainment Programme' Student Radio Awards in 2009[4]. After that, the group moved on to a 3-episode run of a TV series called The Technical Difficulties, which is still archived on Tom Scott's Youtube channel. When they decided that wasn't a success, they began a podcast also called "The Technical Difficulties"[5] where they played a reverse-trivia game. After 33 episodes of that, the group moved into a video format with the 8 series long Citation Needed, with the 8th series being the last ones made[citation needed]. The total series has been viewed 10,310,000+ times. More recently, the group have been trying out what they dub "The Technical Difficulties Experimental Episodes" as they search for a new format to use after Citation Needed.[6]
