The True Don Quixote, an upcoming independent film written and directed by Chris Poché, is a modern-day adaptation of the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. Tim Blake Nelson stars as the title character, a bored and lonely man who, driven insane by propaganda, sets out in pursuit of romance, fame and adventure with his sidekick Sancho Panza, played by Jacob Batalon.[1]
The buddy comedy is set in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana near New Orleans and began shooting there on May 8, 2017.[2] Principal photography wrapped on June 6, 2017.
Executive producers are Karey Kirkpatrick, Rick French, Sal Scaccia, Josh Mayer, Susan Brennan, and Sidney D. Torres III, with Beth Burvant co-producing.[3]
