California No is a 2018 US comedy film written and directed by Ned Ehrbar and starring Noah Segan, Jordan Hinson, Tracie Thoms and Jesse Bradford.
The film premiered at the 2018 San Francisco Independent Film Festival,[1], and went on to play at the 2018 Sonoma International Film Festival, the 2018 Newport Beach Film Festival, the 2018 Greenwich International Film Festival, the 2018 El Dorado Film Festival, the 2018 Ridgefield Independent Film Festival, the 2018 Fairhope Film Festival and the 2018 Reel East Texas Film Festival.
The film won the jury award for Best Narrative Feature at the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival, and director Ned Ehrbar was also nominated for the inaugural Joe Consentino Emerging Filmmaker Award[2]. At the Reel East Texas Film Festival, the film won Best of Festival, Best Comedy Feature, Best Actress (Jordan Hinson) Best Director (Ned Ehrbar) and Best Festival Screenplay (Ned Ehrbar)[3]. The film was also nominated for Best Actor (Noah Segan), Best Supporting Actress (Tracie Thoms) and Best Cinematography (Calvin Callaway)[4].
"California No" was released on Dec. 4, 2018 by Gravitas Ventures on VOD and home video[5]
Plot summary[edit]
During his first visit to couples therapy, a Los Angeles-based entertainment journalist (Noah Segan) discovers that he’s in an open marriage — or at least his wife (Ursula Mills) is. The revelation sets off a series of events that upends his personal and professional life and forces him to reconsider everything about himself.
