Publication history

2020

On February 20, 2020, Marvel Comics announced *The Union* (comics) series as part of the Empyre comic event.[1]

On June 29, 2020, Marvel comics announced that they were cutting back the *Empyre* event and that included *The Union* comic series due to the ongoing pandemic.[2]

On October 30, 2020, it was announced that *The Union* had been moved and rewritten to fit into the King in Black event.[citation needed][lower-alpha 1]

On December 5, 2020, Marvel Comics released *The Union* #1, which was the first issue to feature as a tie-in to a major Marvel event.[3]

2021

On May 5, 2021, the last issue of *The Union* (comic series) Vol 1 was released; it is currently unknown whether the series will be picked up at a later date.[4]

Reactions

  • The Union* #1 has received mixed reviews, with some viewing it as promising while others saw it as outdated and not reflective of the current British identity.[5][6]
