2020[edit]
On 20 February 2020, Marvel Comics announced The Union (comics) series as part of the Empyre comic event.[1]
On 29 June 2020, Marvel comics announced that they were cutting back the Empyre event and that included The Union comic series due to the ongoing pandemic.[2]
On 30 October 2020, it was announced that The Union had been moved and rewritten to fit into King in Black event.[citation needed][lower-alpha 1]
On 5 December 2020, Marvel Comics released The Union #1, this was the first issue to feature as a tie in to a major Marvel event.[3]
2021[edit]
On 5 May 2020, the last issue of The Union (comic series) Vol 1 was released, it is currently unknown whether the series will be picked up at a later date.[4]
Reactions[edit]
The Union #1 has received mixed reviews with some viewing it as promising while others saw it as outdated and not reflective of the current British identity.[5][6]
