The Way Out is an upcoming American sports drama film written, directed, and produced by Barry Jay through his own production banner Fight or Flight Films. It stars Jonny Beauchamp, Mike Manning, Sherri Shepherd, and Ashleigh Murray.
Premise[edit]
Alex Romero is a struggling addict who takes unconventional advice from manipulative boxer Shane Collins. As Shane teaches him fighting techniques, Alex finds himself walking a dark path that jeopardizes not only his sobriety but also his life.

Production[edit]
According to Variety Insight, principal photography for The Way Out began on May 26, 2021 in New York.[1] The following day, the film was officially announced, with Deadline Hollywood confirming that filming had begun and reporting that Jonny Beauchamp, Mike Manning, Sherri Shepherd, and Ashleigh Murray were part of the cast. An independent project from writer and director Barry Jay, the film is the first produced under his production banner Fight or Flight Films.[2] Filming is scheduled to conclude on June 26, 2021.[1]
