The second season of The White Lotus an American satirical comedy-drama television series created, written, and directed by Mike White will premiere on HBO in 2022.[1][2] Like the first season, the season stars a group of travelers and the employees at a White Lotus resort. Michael Imperioli and Aubrey Plaza will star in the season, with Jennifer Coolidge set to reprise her role from the first season.[3][4][5]

Development[edit]
On August 10, 2021, following the first season’s critical acclaim and viewership numbers, HBO renewed the series as an anthology series with Mike White returning. The season will follow the story of a different group of travelers during their stay at different White Lotus property than the first season.[2] White will also return as executive producer alongside David Bernad and Nick Hall who co-produced in the first season. Mark Kamine will serve as co-executive producer. On January 20, 2022, it was announced that the second season was set to film at the Four Seasons San Domenica Palace in Taormina, Sicily, Italy.[7] On February 28, 2022, HBO confirmed that production had began at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace, Taormina.[8] The season will consist of seven episodes.[8]
Casting[edit]
Upon the announcement of second season renewal, it was reported that a predominantly new cast of characters would be focused on at another White Lotus property for the second season, though Mike White had stated there was a possibility for a few cast members from the first season to return as their characters.[9] On October 15, 2021, it was reported that Jennifer Coolidge is set to return as a guest star for the second season.[3] On January 5, 2022, it was announced that Michael Imperioli was cast to star in the season as Dominic Di Grasso.[4] Following, on January 10, 2022, Aubrey Plaza joined the cast as Harper Spiller.[5] Additionally, it was confirmed that F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, and Haley Lu Richardson were cast to star.[6]
In February 2022, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, and Will Sharpe joined the cast as series regulars while Leo Woodall was cast in a recurring role for the second season.[10]
