The Wilde Girls is a 2001 American made-for-television comedy-drama film directed by Del Shores starring Olivia Newton-John, her daughter Chloe Rose Lattanzi, Swoosie Kurtz and Jerome Ehlers. It originally premiered on Showtime on November 4, 2001.[1]
Plot[edit]
Jasmine Wilde (Olivia Newton-John) is a single mother and a former singing star trying to life a normal life in a Georgia town with her teenage daughter Izzy (Chloe Rose Lattanzi). Following a spectacular performance at her high school talent show, Izzy is contacted by Dan Vito (Robert Lewis Stephenson), a record producer who wants to bring her to Los Angeles to jump start her recording career. When Izzy discovers old magazine covers featuring her mother, Jasmine explains to her daughter she was once a major recording artist, but that she abandoned her singing career for a more normal life for her daughter.
While in Los Angeles, Jasmine contacts Izzy's father Toby (Jerome Ehlers), a musician who pursued his music career instead of raising his daughter, and she persuades him to meet Izzy at her recording studio. Jasmine decides to return to Georgia and Izzy stays in Los Angeles to pursue her singing career. However, after carefully re-examining her life, Izzy decides to abandon the music world and she returns with her father to Georgia to reunite with Jasmine.
